Our candidates
What is a typical candidate's profile?
- French nationality.
- Aged 18 - 25.
- Non-smokers, some occasional smokers.
- Male or Female.
- Some candidates drive.
- Childcare experience - babysitting, activity leader on a summer camp, younger siblings/family.
- Basic - intermediate English.
- Some candidates may have first aid training or the BAFA childcare certificate.
When are the Au Pairs available from and for how long?
Most Au Pairs are available for 6-12 months depending on the time of year they start. They are also lots of candidates available for shorter placements, particularly in the summer.The peak departure period for Au Pairs is the beginning of the school year and in January. It is of course possible to find an Au Pair at any time during the year but the process might take a little longer and the choice won't be as varied.
The Au Pairs generally wish to finish in the summer regardless of when they started as they usually have plans from September onwards (university, college etc). You can then of course find a candidate for a year from September. There is a also very good selection of excellent experienced candidates during the summer.
